Nowra Fishing Report | September 05, 2023

The day has finally arrived! Bass season officially opened on the weekend and local anglers wasted no time in giving it a crack.  We have seen some decent fish captured already up to around the 45cm mark which is an awesome kick off to the season. The Shoalhaven River seems to be where the bulk of quality fish are being taken.

The Rocks & Beaches

Reports of good sized tailor around 7 mile beach have been circulating as well as healthy numbers of Salmon and a few school size Mulloway. Leading up to the warmer months should see the Mulloway come on the chew.

The Rocks have been a bit quiet on the pelagic front but a great time to grab a feed of Drummer or Luderick from the washes.

River & Lakes

Some big Flathead have been taken on the Basin lately as well as some cracking Bream.

The Shoalhaven river has been pretty reliable for a feed of Blackfish or Bream and the guys chasing jewfish are still doing well with some trips producing multiple fish most commonly in the school size range.

Offshore

Some great Snapper action and a few good sized Kingfish being taken around Currarong Bommie lately and well worth a shot.

The Yellowfin Tuna have been keeping fisho's busy with some fish closer to shore than expected.

The amazing capture of a Pacific Bluefin over 170 kgs took place out past the Banks this week. An exceptional and rare capture and a Big Congratulations to the Lucky Anglers!
