The Rocks & Beaches

The local rock scene should soon fire up with pelagics as the waters warm and currents deliver them to our feet. As we wait for them to arrive there are still a few decent Hoodlum Kingfish around and they have been showing up on most ledges from Bass Point to Jervis Bay.

The LBG scene should spring into action soon so if you are not geared up and ready now is a good time to prepare.

The washes have been fishing well with some big Luderick and Drummer on Bread and Prawns.

The Beaches have been fishing well with plenty of Salmon about and a few Tailor mixed in. A great time to target Whiting and Bream on Worms or Prawns.

River & Lakes

The freshwater stretches of the Shoalhaven River still have healthy numbers of Bass on the Chew while down at the salty end, the Bream and Flathead are still biting. As the water warms it's a great time to fish the shallow sand and weed beds with surface lures for Whiting, Bream, and Flathead with lures such as the Sugarpens or shallow water cranks.

The Basin continues to produce Flathead the caliber it's famous for and some nice Mulloway in the smaller school size. Some amazing bream have also been taken on lures lately.

Offshore

It's that time of year when things get hot! Striped Marlin and decent Dollies are already here with some nice fish already hitting the decks. The Inshore Black Marlin shouldn't be too far away so time to get your gear in order.

Still some nice Snapper being caught inshore and some nice kingfish around the Banks and Shallows.

We wish everyone a Happy New Year and tight lines for all this Summer.
