Nowra Fishing Report | Febuary 4,2024

The Rock & Beaches
If you are after a few Bonito you shouldn't struggle to bag a few with good numbers turning up along our rocky coastline. Kingfish in the 2 to 4kg size range have been in decent numbers also and offering them a small live yellowtail or soft plastic will usually do the job. The washes are holding some great Luderick at most locations and the occasional decent Bream.
The Beaches have been fishing well for bread and butter species but now is a great time of year to chase Whiting and Bream using beach worms, great fun, and a great feed.

River & Lakes
The Shoalhaven River is a but dirty atm with rainwater stirring it up but there are still plenty of fish biting. Towards the river entrance, the occasional school Mulloway has been caught for those willing to put the effort in. In the fresh the Bass are still in great numbers and with the holidays over things should improve with less traffic on the water.
The Basin has been producing some nice Mulloway lately as well as the usual Bream and large flathead.
If you're after a feed of fresh prawns try your luck at Wollumboola Lake as there have been some great hauls there lately.

Offshore
It's that time of the year, warmer waters, and the good stuff that comes with it. Around the fads, there had been some sensational Dollie sessions and the occasional larger fish on bigger live baits or skirts. The marlin have arrived with offshore fishing better than inshore so far. Striped Marlin with the occasional Black mixed in on the shelf while inshore around the Banks the Blacks have turned up just not in large numbers yet, this could change any day now.
The Banks and inshore reefs have a few Kingfish about but this has been hot and cold and as water temps change they can get a bit picky and challenging to get to bite.

Here are some pics from the crew off Dadsboat while fishing the Jess Sam's Ulladulla Tournament. Finishing with a grand slam tagging Black, Striped and Blue marlin with 5 fish for the day.
